Hurley, Mississippi

Goff, MGCJC student from September 1964 to January 1966, a Perkinston football standout under coach Harold Wesson in the 1964 and 1965 seasons, set records as a Bulldog that still stand. The Hurley native, a wide receiver/defensive back for the Bulldogs, set school marks in receptions (65) and yards gained (895) in 1965, when he won the C.S. Wentzell Award as the team’s outstanding player and was selected first-team All-State. He went on to a two-year career as a defensive back at Delta State University, leading the team in interceptions in 1967. Goff was involved in Jackson County parks and recreation for nearly 20 years before being elected to five terms as county tax assessor.
