Kenneth Raymond Hughes Jr.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College (1980-82) / Golf

He played golf for Gulf Coast from 1980 to 1982 and was named Player of the Year both his freshman and sophomore years. He was named an Mississippi Association of Junior Colleges All-State player in 1981 and 1982. In 1982 he was the Mississippi State Junior College Medalist in Golf. He attended the University of Nebraska on a golf scholarship for a year and then enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi. In 1985 he was named USM Golf Player of the Year. After graduation from USM in 1986, Hughes became a golf professional. Hughes was named president of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association in 1997, and served on the board of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Hotel/Motel Association. In 1999 Hughes was director of golf for the President/Broadwater Golf Club.
