Danielle Ryan of Madison played fast-pitch softball at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2006-2008. She had played softball at Madison Central High School from 7-12 grades but did not pursue softball after high school graduation.

Meeting Coach Kenneth Long at the Mississippi All-Star game, she kept in touch with him and decided to get back into softball and attend college at MGCCC.

Ryan, a pitcher established a great reputation at Gulf Coast. During her freshman year, she had 21 wins and 2 losses, with 112 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.52. Her sophomore year, she had 12 wins and 2 losses with 86 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.97.

During 2007, she was named All-American, All-Region, and All-State. Her team went on to win the state and regional championships. In 2008, she was named to All-Region and All-State.

After graduating from Gulf Coast, Ryan attended Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama. She played softball there for two years, helping build the team from a NAIA team to NCAA Division 2 school. After graduation, she moved home to Madison.

Recently married in 2022, Ryan sells insurance.
