Terry “Tee” McCovey

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (1979-81)
Pascagoula, Miss.

Terry “Tee” McCovey led the Bulldogs to MACJC South championships in 1980 and 1981. As a stalwart starter in 1981, McCovey was a starter and double-digit scorer on the state championship team.

He went on to play at Arkansas College (now Lyon College), earning a spot in the school’s Hall of Fame in 2021.

Beyond the field, McCovey soared in the U.S. Air Force, leaving an impressive mark on various military teams. His journey extended to the Sacramento Kings’ summer league team in 1988, adding a taste of the NBA in his storied career. McCovey’s commitment transcended sports as he assumed the role of President of the United Way for Jackson and George Counties, a testament to his dedication to community service and leadership on numerous boards for local organizations.
