Bio

Robert Weathers has been around Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College his whole life, and he rejoined the Athletic Department as Assistant Athletic Director in 2023.

He grew up around the Perkinston Campus dating back to when his grandfather Bob Weathers coached the Bulldogs. After being Stone High’s top 3-point shooter his junior year, he graduated early to play basketball at Gulf Coast for his father, Wendell Weathers, from 2011-13. Robert was part of the 2012 team that won the MACJC championship, and his sophomore year the team made it to the Region 23 semifinals.

He graduated from MGCCC with an associate’s degree before heading to the University of Southern Mississippi. Weathers graduated in Hattiesburg with a bachelor’s in kinesiology in 2017 and with a master’s in sports management in 2022. He interned in strength and conditioning with the USM athletic department, working with the basketball, volleyball and men’s tennis teams.

Before beginning work at the Perkinston Campus, he was Coordinator of Wellness and Recreation at the Jackson County Campus starting in 2018.
