Men’s Basketball cruises over Chatt Valley

Mississippi Gulf Coast bounced back from its first loss of the men's basketball season by trouncing Chattahoochee State 77-47 Saturday in Poplarville.

The Bulldogs split in the Pearl River Classic and are now 4-1.

Mekhi Strong (Fr., Edwards/Raymond) and Za'Kariyea Hamilton (Fr., Jackson/Clinton) scored 13 points each to lead Gulf Coast. Avan Wilson (Fr., Bay St. Louis/Bay) added 10.

Gulf Coast lost 67-65 to Calhoun on the first day of the Poplarville event.

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday in a road trip to play Meridian. Tipoff for the men's team in a non-conference doubleheader is set for 7:30 p.m.
