Bulldogs lose at No. 15 Jones

Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 91-71 to No. 15 Jones in Ellisville on Tuesday.

Jabbari Barry (So., Lake Charles, La./Barbe) had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs. Za'Kariyea Hamilton (Fr., Jackson/Clinton) added 14.

The Bulldogs trailed by 15 seven minutes into play, but a Hamilton layup made it 31-24 with 6:26 in the half. Jones doubled that lead by halftime, up 47-33 at the break.

The Bobcats (8-2) shot 70 percent from the 3-point line and 62.1 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.

Gulf Coast got it within eight in the first four minutes of the second half but would get no closer.

Larry Lee (So., Utica/Raymond) narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Gulf Coast travels to Utica on Thursday to play Hinds. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
