Ryghe Lyons brings a wealth of big man knowledge from a stellar Division I career to the Gulf Coast coaching staff in 2023-24. He was an All-Southland Conference player at Nicholls State who also earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team.

The product of John Curtis High School in River Ridge, La., helped lead the Patriots to a state runner-up spot in 2015. Lyons quickly got on the court, starting 22 games as a freshman. He led the team with 44 blocks and would continue the shot-swatting through five years at Nicholls, finishing with 201. 

Lyons started 95 of the 146 games he appeared in averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. He shot 53 percent from the field for his career.

Lyons played for Culiacan in Mexico’s Pacific Coast Basketball Circuit in 2023.
