Gore grabs NJCAA award
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Isaiah Gore pitched two shutouts last week in men's soccer action to help the Bulldogs move into a first-place tie in the MACCC.
That was more than enough to win NJCAA Keeper of the Week, the national organization announced Wednesday.
Gore, a sophomore from Laurel, made an array of spectacular saves for Gulf Coast in a shutout at then-No. 6 Pearl River. He had nine saves in a 2-0 at Poplarville and blanked Meridian for his 80 minutes in a combined 2-0 shutout.
Gulf Coast moved into a tie with Pearl River and Jones for the top spot in the MACCC.
