Rain plagues NJCAA Tennis again
Rain wreaked more havoc on the schedule Tuesday at the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship in Plano, Texas.
As a result, No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast played only two matches. Clay Fudge (Fr., Madison/Madison Central) lost to second-seeded Alejandro Orihuela in No. 4 singles, and Jackson Ward (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) lost to top-seeded Yassir Kilani at No. 6 singles.
Both Bulldogs had won first-round matches to pick up two big points each in the team standings.
The other Gulf Coast first-round winners, Ward and Anderson Dulaney (Fr., Long Beach/Long Beach) at No. 3 doubles, will have to wait until Wednesday to get back on the court. The rest of the team will also be in action in the consolation draw.
The tournament will conclude Friday.
