No. 12 Men’s Tennis wins 9-0

No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast cranked through another MACCC match Tuesday, sweeping Hinds 9-0 in Raymond.

The first three matches of the day laid the groundwork for the rest of the match. Gulf Coast didn't drop a game.

"Coming out and winning like that in doubles is a statement from the very beginning," Bulldogs coach Sam Blackburn said. "That rolled right into singles. We really took care of business and dominated from top to bottom. I'm proud of the way the guys took care of business."

Singles was more of the same, with Gulf Coast losing only 11 games in six straight-set wins. Ryland Buford (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) and Jordan Mitchell (Fr., Natchez/Natchez) won 6-0, 6-0 matches at Nos. 4 and 6.

Gulf Coast is now 5-0 overall, 4-1 in MACCC play. Hinds falls to 0-6, 0-3.

The Bulldogs will head to New Albany on Thursday to play an exhibition match against Blue Mountain College at 2 p.m. They play Northwest Mississippi the next morning at 10.
