Watson scores 26 in Lady Bulldogs loss

Mississippi Gulf Coast fell 71-54 at Hinds on Monday, dropping back to .500 with one game left in the season.

The Lady Bulldogs (11-11, 3-10 MACJC South) had 26 turnovers and gave up 20 offensive rebounds to Hinds (10-12, 4-9).

"We turned the ball over way too much," Gulf Coast coach Jason Conner said. "Our matchup zone was pretty good, because it's hard for us to keep up with them in man."

Markeisha Watson led the Lady Bulldogs with 26 points and also had six rebounds. Courtney White added 10 points and had a team-high eight rebounds.

Gulf Coast returns to action Thursday against Copiah-Lincoln in Perkinston. Sophomore Night at the Weathers/Wentzell Center starts at 5:30 p.m.

"We just have to keep fighting," Conner said. "I'm hoping we have two days of good practice and get ready for Co-Lin."
