PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast scored the first nine points of the second quarter to pull away from Delgado in a dominating 92-58 win Thursday at the Weathers-Wentzell Center.

The Bulldogs went on a 15-1 run to lead 26-8 in the second quarter and improve to 5-1.

"On a scale of 1-to-10, I'd give us about a five," Gulf Coast coach Hope Adams said. "This team has a really high ceiling, but we have a lot of work to do, especially defensively. We haven't seen our best basketball yet. We put points on the board, which is hard to do, so I'm proud of them overall."

Four Bulldogs scored in double digits, led by Aniya Saddler (So., Columbus/Columbus) with 17. Elsie Harris (So., Mobile, Ala./B.C. Rain) had 11, and Brieanna Miller (So., Moss Point/Moss Point) and Shabria Cronan (So., D'Iberville/D'Iberville) scored all 10 of their points in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs closed out a season sweep of the Dolphins (3-3). Gulf Coast won 67-39 on Nov. 1 in New Orleans.

Gulf Coast doesn't play again until after Thanksgiving. The Bulldogs travel to Raymond to play Hinds in a non-conference game on Nov. 29. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
