Hunt named to All-R23 Tournament Team

CLINTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Ja'Sharreah Hunt was named to the NJCAA Region 23 Women's Basketball All-Tournament Team after a strong showing in two games last week.

The freshman point guard from Roxie averaged 12.5 points while shooting 56.3 percent from the floor to help get Gulf Coast to the semifinals. She had 13 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 65-51 win over Coahoma in the quarterfinals.

In Saturday's semifinal loss to Jones in Clinton, she scored 12 points, six rebounds and three assists in a semifinal loss to Jones in Clinton.
