PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast women's soccer season came to an end Saturday in the MACCC/Region 23 Tournament semifinals with a 4-0 loss to No. 2 Holmes.

The Bulldogs finished the season 8-5-2 after finishing second in the MACCC South with a 6-2-2 mark.

Gulf Coast trailed 1-0 at the half after a 15th-minute goal, and the Bulldogs' deficit doubled 10 minutes into the second half.

Two goals in the final five minutes made the outcome more lopsided.

Skyler Steede (So., Lucedale/George County) had five saves for Gulf Coast, which managed three shots against Holmes (11-0-1).

Holmes will play South Division champion Jones for the state and region title Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The Bobcats beat East Central 1-0 Saturday night.
