UPDATE: No. 17 MGCCC moves game to Hattiesburg

UPDATE: Because of wet field conditions in Perkinston, the game has been moved. The game will now start at 6:30 p.m.

PERKINSTON — No. 17 Mississippi Gulf Coast opens its women's soccer home schedule Friday when Motlow State makes the trip from Tullahoma, Tenn., although the game will be played in Hattiesburg.

The Bulldogs will play the Bucks at 6:30 p.m. at Tatum Park. The game will not be streamed.

  • MGCCC: 0-1 (8-5-2 last season)
  • Motlow State: 1-0 (6-3 last season)

Last Time Out

  • Gulf Coast pushed No. 17 (NJCAA D-I) LSU Eunice to overtime before falling 1-0 in the 98th minute on Aug. 20. Keeper Skyler Steede (So., Lucedale/George County) made five saves.
  • Motlow State beat Wabash Valley 3-1 last weekend in Tennessee. Kristen Gassaway, Abby Tolbert and Alyssa Buchanan scored for the Bucks, who equalized just before halftime before pulling away in the second half.

  • Gulf Coast is one of four MACCC teams in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll.
