
4 Women’s Basketball players to be saluted Thursday
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will salute to a group of players who were instrumental in last year's NJCAA Region 23 women's basketball championship Thursday when the Bulldogs host Sophomore Night.
Gulf Coast takes on Southwest Mississippi at 5:30 p.m. at Dantzler Arena. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money. It costs $7 for adults or $5 for youth online, or $10 and $7 at the gate. Jacylin Houston (So., Louisville/Louisville), Kristen McMillan (So., Hoover, Ala./Hoover), Tamia Yates (So., Crystal Springs/Crystal Springs) and Aniyah Hunter (So., Louisville/Louisville) will take part in Sophomore Night ceremonies immediately following the women's game.
The Bulldogs are still battling to try to get into the top four of the conference standings to earn a bye in the Region 23 tournament. They are tied for fifth, and if they finish fifth through eighth, they'll host a first-round game on March 6.
