Dylan Trussell is Gulf Coast’s new athletic academic advisor, joining the department in August 2024. He comes to Perkinston after holding the same position at Southern Miss the previous year.

In Hattiesburg, he worked to ensure athletes met NCAA academic standards while working toward their degrees. He monitored grades and helped address academic issues, coordinating with faculty and coaches.

Prior to that, Trussell worked as an assistant in the psychology department at USM.

Trussell graduated from USM with highest honors on bachelor’s degree in psychology, a consistent President’s List awardee.
