Bulldogs can grab 2nd alone at Utica

PERKINSTON — The tie for second place in the MACJC South will be broken Monday at Utica.

Mississippi Gulf Coast heads to Hinds for a scheduled tipoff of 7:30 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://www.hindsccsports.net/.

It starts a stretch of four straight road games, part of a portion of the schedule that sees the Bulldogs play six of seven away from Perk.

Last Time Out

  • Gulf Coast suffered its second straight setback Tuesday, losing 61-57 to Jones at Perk. Dillyn Neely (So., Biloxi/Biloxi) had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs.
  • Hinds defeated East Central 71-54 at Decatur on Thursday.

Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast completed a season sweep of Hinds by winning 89-83 at Utica on Feb. 21, 2019. The Bulldogs closed out the regular season by winning their seventh in eight games, having already clinched third place in the MACJC South. Dajuan Moorer had 23 points and nine rebounds.

Notes

  • Gulf Coast is third in NJCAA Division I in scoring defense, allowing just 60.9 points per game.
  • D'yasmond Booker (Fr., Pascagoula/Pascagoula) is tied for the MACJC lead with 9.2 rebounds per game. He'll return from a one-game suspension after picking up two technical fouls at Pearl River.
