Mississippi Gulf Coast's Jackie Rhodes sees her Lady Bulldogs soccer team trending in the right direction.

Gulf Coast fell at Hinds 3-0 Wednesday, but things are looking up.

"It was a better overall performance on all parts of the field," Rhodes said. "We had some more freshmen show out. Their intensity was high. We're getting in better shape."

Rhodes said they'll work on improving their first touches on the ball and getting back on defense.

The Lady Bulldogs were outshot 15-6, with keeper Kristin Hicks playing well in goal.

Rhodes had high praise for one of her freshman who was all over the field.

"Tristan McFall had a great game," she said. "Defensively, offensively. We played her in different parts of the field and she just played well in everywhere we put her."

Gulf Coast (0-2) returns to action Tuesday. The Bulldogs entertain East Central in their first home match of the year.
