MGCCC men’s, women’s teams earn academic honors
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's women's and men's tennis teams earned 2016 All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, with eight individuals being named Scholar Athletes.
Teams must have grade-point averages of 3.2 or better, and student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.
The Lady Bulldogs finished the year with a 3.33 GPA, with the Bulldogs having a 3.20 GPA. Only 13 women's teams and 13 men's teams in the country were received the award.
Paulina Estrada, Katie Robinson, Abigail Smith and Karah Younger were named Scholar Athletes on the women's team.
On the men's team, Bryan Allen, Chris Diep, Caleb Flurry and Brennan O'Keefe earned the honor.
