MGCCC’s Fornett wins Madden championship
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Jaheim Fornett won an NJCAA eSports championship in Madden NFL 25 in a convincing sweep in the finals.
Fornett was the sixth seed in the Tier 3 spring opt-in tournament in the football competition, and he swept Seward County 28-14 and 38-21 in the semifinals. That set up a showdown against East Georgia State, and Fornett won that title with a 36-28, 51-32 sweep in the best-of-three series.
Fornett is a student at MGCCC's Jackson County Campus.
