Gulf Coast falls at Jones

Mississippi Gulf Coast gave up the most points it has all season Thursday, falling 81-68 to Jones in Ellisville.

Dillyn Neely (Fr., Biloxi/Biloxi) had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Gulf Coast. Tafari Simms (Fr., Hamilton, Ontario/Lincoln Prep) and Keevon Oney (So., Gulfport/Gulfport) had 11 each.

The Bulldogs (12-3, 4-2 MACJC South) had been allowing a nation-best 60.6 points per game coming into the contest. They've lost their last two division games to fall into third place in the South.

Jones (11-4, 5-1) took sole possession of second in the division, one game back of unbeaten Pearl River.

Gulf Coast returns to action Monday back home in Perkinston. Tipoff against Hinds is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Weathers-Wentzell Center.
