
No. 21 MGCCC Women cruise to 4th straight
PERKINSTON — No. 21 Mississippi Gulf Coast won its fourth straight match in a breeze, beating Itawamba 8-1 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex on Friday.
The Bulldogs swept all six singles courts, highlighted by Hayden Hensarling (Fr., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) shutting out her No. 3 opponent 6-0, 6-0. Abigail Garman (Fr., Diamondhead/Hancock) dropped just two games in her No. 4 singles match.
Gulf Coast didn't lose a singles set.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-4 overall and are now 8-3 in MACCC play. They'll be back in action Tuesday at Meridian, when they'll try to avenge a narrow loss earlier this season.
