PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast aims to keep its hold on fourth in the MACCC women's basketball standings with a road trip to Utica on Monday.

  • MGCCC blasted East Central 77-47 at Perk on Thursday. Tytiana Buckley (Fr., Meridian/Meridian) had a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Hinds lost 80-31 at Thursday at Meridian.

Previous Meeting

On Dec. 5, the Bulldogs beat Hinds 61-39 at Dantzler Arena. Simaru Fields had 19 points, six steals and five assists.

  • Gulf Coast ranks third in the MACCC in steals (11.0 spg), field-goal defense (34.4 percent) and 3-point defense (22.9 percent). The Bulldogs are fourth in scoring defense (53.2 percent) and free-throw shooting (66.9 percent).
  • Simaru Fields (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) ranks sixth in the MACCC in scoring (14.7 ppg) and ninth in 3-pointers made (28).
