Lopareva, Bankston win twice

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 6-3 to Hinds in women's tennis action on Wednesday.

Margarita Lopareva (So., Moscow Russia/School No. 1101) and Megan Bankston (So., Gulfport/Gulfport) picked up two wins each for the Lady Bulldogs (1-3).

They teamed together to win their No. 1 doubles match 9-7. Lopareva won her No.1 singles match in straight sets, while Bankston staged a comeback from down a set.

She rallied to win 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Tuesday when they travel to Jones. First serves in Ellisville are set for 2 p.m.
