PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis posted its second sweep of the season Thursday, blasting Coastal Alabama-South 9-0 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 with another dominant performance. They have dropped only two courts in 36 matches.
Kasey Kent (Fr., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) lost only one game in her straight-sets win at No. 3 singles, as did Krissy Georgieva (So., Epsom and Ewell High School/Sutton England) at No. 2 singles. Kaylen Bond (So., Stone/Perkinston) won her No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-2.
The Bulldogs won both doubles matches 8-2, with Coastal Alabama being short a player. That put Gulf Coast up 2-0 before the match started.
The Bulldogs' match Friday at Southwest Mississippi has been postponed because of expected bad weather. They travel to East Central on Tuesday to resume MACCC play.
