No. 2 Bulldogs play in Alabama this week

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast heads over to Alabama to play a non-conference event this week.

The Bulldogs are playing in the two-day Coastal Alabama Invitational starting Monday. They will play at Timber Creek Golf Club in Point Clear.

Gulf Coast is tied for second in the latest Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll, which came out Friday. The Bulldogs received one of four first-place votes and are tied with Glendale. South Mountain is No. 1.

Golfstat has Gulf Coast third in its computer rankings.

The Bulldogs have won all four MACCC events this year, plus their own Fall Invitational. It was a 54-hole tournament and did not count in conference play.

MACCC foes East Central and Northeast Mississippi will be at Timber Creek, as well as top NJCAA Division I teams. No. 6 Eastern Florida State, No. 10 Wallace State and Central Alabama, which is ranked 13th by Golfstat, are participating.
