3 MGCCC squads top MACCC competitors in the classroom
PERKINSTON — Three Mississippi Gulf Coast teams were named MACCC All-Academic Teams of the Year, including one repeat winner.
The Bulldogs golf team won the award for having the highest GPA among teams in its sport for the second straight time in the 2022-23 academic year. The men's basketball team and eSports team also won.
The golf team posted a 3.68 GPA, tied for the third highest among the winners across all sports in the MACCC. The Bulldogs were also successful on the course, winning the Gulf District title for the 14th time in the last 15 times it's been contested. They finished fifth at the NJCAA Championship in Plymouth, Ind.
The men's basketball team finished with a 3.31 GPA, and the eSports team had a 3.30 mark.
