Fields, Anderson named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Simaru Fields and JaVon Anderson have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Jan. 9-15.
Fields, a freshman guard from Gulfport, averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for Gulf Coast. She had 16 points and three rebounds in a 78-63 loss at No. 12 Jones, then registered her third double-double of the season with a 23-point, 11-rebound night in a 58-50 win over Mississippi Delta. She also had seven assists during the week.
Anderson, a sophomore guard from Columbia, S.C., averaged 11.5 points and 2.5 assists in a pair of losses.
