Graziani, Kaiser named GCCC All-America Scholars

PERKINSTON — Two Mississippi Gulf Coast golfers were named Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars, the organization announced Wednesday.

Chase Kaiser (So., Natchez/Cathedral) and Alessio Graziani (So., Johannesburg, South Africa/Beaulieu College) earned the prestigious award for their excellence in the classroom.

The NJCAA awards are for sophomores graduating with their associate's degrees in their final year of community college eligibility. They must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds with a stroke average under 77.0 and a GPA of 3.20 or better.

The duo led the Bulldogs to a school-record 11 tournament victories, including a sweep of all MACCC regular-season events plus the conference championship. Gulf Coast won the region/district title for the 14th time in the last 15 competitions.

Kaiser studied engineering at Gulf Coast and signed to play at NCAA Division I North Alabama. Graziani majored in geography and signed to play with NAIA William Carey.
