Dawson named All-MACCC
PERKINSTON — Darius Dawson is a big man with a shooting touch and rebounding chops, and the MACCC has awarded his success.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast forward was voted to the All-MACCC Second Team by the league's coaches, it was announced Thursday. He averaged 13.9 points and 7.5 rebounds.
The sophomore from Sumter, S.C., finishe secondin the MACCC in shooting at 57 percent. He was sixth in free-throw shooting (81.3 percent) and seventh in blocks (35).
Dawson scored 10 or more point 20 times and had double figures in rebounds seven times. He had five double-double nights.
He also shot 33.3 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Dawson was named MACCC Player of the Week once.
