Softball hosts No. 5 Jones on Tuesday

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast welcomes No. 5 Jones to Ross-Smith Field for an MACCC softball doubleheader Tuesday.

Last Time Out

• MGCCC won a pair of run-rule games over East Mississippi on Saturday, prevailing 10-2 and 8-0.
• Jones beat Southwest Mississippi twice at Summit on Thursday, winning 11-7 in nine innings and 17-9 in six.

Previous Meeting

On May 26, 2021, Jones beat Gulf Coast 4-1 in the NJCAA Division II Softball National Championship tournament in Oxford, Ala.

• Kristian Jones (So., Southaven/DeSoto Central) is tied for the lead in the MACCC with 16 doubles (Meridian's Sydney Sizemore) and is 10^th in hitting (.432). She's second in the NJCAA in doubles.
• K.K. Agner (So., Horn Lake/Magnolia Heights) is fourth in the MACCC with nine home runs, sixth in slugging percentage (.809) and eighth in on-base percentage (.500).
