PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast, winners of four straight, opens its MACJC schedule Monday when a strong Hinds team visits the Weathers/Wentzell Center at 7:30 p.m.
The pair of Bulldog teams sport identical 6-1 records. They each also have one of the top 25 scorers in the country.
Gulf Coast's Zach Parker (6-2, 185, So., Biloxi/Biloxi) is averaging 21.9 points per game, good for 13th best. He also ranks 25th by shooting 56.3 percent from behind the 3-point line. No other player in front of him has attempted as many shots this season (48).
Hinds' Deangelo West is averaging a 22nd-best 20.9 points per game. He's shooting 43.9 percent from behind the arc.
This will be Gulf Coast's only MACJC South Division before the Christmas break. The Bulldogs play one more road game at Hinds on Wednesday before taking exactly a month off.
