MGCCC men try to stay unbeaten

PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast men's basketball team will try to move to 2-0 on the young MACCC South season Thursday when Meridian visits the Weathers-Wentzell Center.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. To keep attendance within the governor's COVID-19 restrictions, no tickets are available for the general public. The game will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/9500749.
The Bulldogs will be playing their first home division game.

Last Time Out
- MGCCC went on the road Monday and beat Jones 76-71 in Ellisville. Melvion Flanagan (Fr., Alexandria La./Peabody) led Gulf Coast with 17 points, and the Bulldogs won the battle of the board with 20 offensive rebounds.
- Meridian got beaten 63-61 on a last-second shot by Hinds.
Previous Meeting
Gulf Coast couldn't hold onto a 12-point halftime lead at Perk, and Meridian won 72-70 in overtime on Feb. 10, 2020.

- Johnson is averaging 8.5 rebounds, seventh-best in the conference.
