PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast made the first NJCAA Division II Softball Rankings released this week.
The Lady Bulldogs (7-5) are No. 15 in the first regular-season poll of the year. They were unranked in the preseason poll.
Gulf Coast has a win against the No. 2 team in the rankings, LSU Eunice. The Lady Bulldogs are one of four MACJC teams: Jones (No. 1), Northeast (No. 5) and Copiah-Lincoln (No. 10).
Gulf Coast opens MACJC play Thursday with a doubleheader at Ross-Smith Field. First pitch against Northwest (4-3) is scheduled for 2 p.m.
