Conley grabs MACCC Keeper of the Week

PERKINSTON — The choice for MACCC Keeper of the Week was pretty obvious, and Tuesday the conference confirmed Mississippi Gulf Coast's Laurel Conley picked up the award.

The sophomore from Ocean Springs had 16 saves against a pair of top-five teams to lead No. 9 Mississippi Gulf Coast to a 1-0-1 week. MACCC sports information directors voted on the award.

She had a four-save shutout to beat No. 5 Jones at Perkinston. In a 2-2 tie at No. 1 Northwest Mississippi, she stopped 12 shots.

Conley joins teammate Kaylee Tardo as winner of the award this season. She's now eligible for the NJCAA weekly award, which will be announced Wednesday.
