Lady Bulldogs beat JCJC 6-3 in MACJC opener

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team opened its 2017 MACJC season with a victory Thursday over Jones County.

Paulina Estrada (So, San Luis, Mexico/), Bianca Buie (Fr, Baia Mare, Romania, Gheorghe Sincai National High School) and Jasmine Sartin (So, Biloxi, Biloxi) won two matches each for the Lady Bulldogs.

Estrada and Buie teamed to win No. 1 doubles over JCJC's Beth Owen and Anastasiia Bukhanova 8-4. Estrada beat Owen 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Buie defeated Bukhanova 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2.

Sartin won her No. 4 singles match over Kaylee McLaurin 6-3, 6-2, and teamed with Kaci Calhoun (Fr, Florence, Florence) to win No. 3 doubles 8-5 over April Rudolph and August Parker.

Jillianne Craft (Fr, Gulfport, St. Patrick) won her No. 6 singles match over Parker 4-6, 6-4 (3).
