
No. 21 MGCCC gets 5th straight sweep
PERKINSTON — The No. 21 Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team galloped to its fifth straight match sweep Monday, polishing off Wallace State-Hanceville 9-0 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 8-3 overall, dropping only a single set.
Jillianne Craft (Fr, Gulfport/St. Patrick) didn't lose a game in her win at No. 6 singles. Paulina Estrada (So, San Luis, Mexico/Colegio Del Bosque), Bianca Buie (Fr, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School) and Jasmine Sartin (So, Biloxi/Biloxi) dropped only two games in their straight-set singles victories.
Katie Burrall (So, Hernando/Hernando) and Jenna Lyons won their No. 2 doubles match while losing only one game, as did Sartin and Sarah McMillan (Fr, Jayess/North Pike) at No. 3 doubles.
Gulf Coast continues a busy week Thursday when it travels to Copiah-Lincoln. There are home matches Friday and Saturday against Holmes and Itawamba.
