No. 21 Lady Bulldogs blank Faulkner

PERKINSTON — No. 21 Mississippi Gulf Coast blitzed Faulkner State 9-0 in women's tennis Thursday in Bay Minette, Ala.

The Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 7-3, didn't lose a set, led by Paulina Estrada (So, San Luis, Mexico/Colegio Del Bosque). She lost only two games in two matches.

Estrada teamed with Bianca Buie (Fr, Baia Mare, Romania/Gheorghe Sincai National High School) to defeat Anastasia Berry and Sandy Bonucchi 8-1 in No. 1 doubles. She won her No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-1 over Berry.

Jasmine Sartin (So, Biloxi/Biloxi) dropped only four games in her two matches. Sartin and Sarah McMillan (Fr, Jayess/North Pike) won their No. 3 doubles match 8-1 over Jasmine Rivers and Ashley Sanford. She cruised 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

Gulf Coast returns to action Monday when Wallace State-Hanceville visits Perkinston. Matches start at 1 p.m. at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
