
Lopareva gets No. 16 MGCCC’s lone win
PERKINSTON — The No. 16 Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team fell 8-1 to No. 10 Cowley County in Meridian on Tuesday.
Margarita Lopareva (Fr, Moscow, Russia/School No. 1101) won her No. 2 singles match 7-5, 6-4 for Gulf Coast's only point of the day.
Cowley County, which is located in Arkansas City, Kansas, finished 11th in the NJCAA Division I National Championship last season.
The Lady Bulldogs (6-2) return to MACJC action Wednesday when they travel to Copiah-Lincoln. First serve in Wesson is at 1 p.m.
