
Brown, Kaiser named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Kennedy Brown and Chase Kaiser have been named Bulldogs of the Week for April 3-9.
Brown, a sophomore from Southaven, was dominant in both ends of a Gulf Coast doubleheader sweep of East Central. She struck out four in 2.1 innings of the opener to pick up a save in an 11-6 win, and she earned the win in the nightcap with 1.2 innings of work in a 6-5 comeback victory.
Kaiser, a sophomore from Natchez, dominated yet again at the MACCC Championship in Pass Christian. He picked up his school record-tying fifth win of the season with an eight-shot victory at The Oaks Golf Club, leading Gulf Coast to its 10th title of the season.

Adrian Byrd, a freshman left-hander from Wiggins, made two shutdown middle-relief appearances last week. He didn't allow a run in pair of three-inning outings. Byrd struck out three in a 13-7 win at East Central and six in a 3-1 loss to Coahoma. He didn't walk a batter.
Kannon Varnado, a freshman from Gulfport, moved into the starting lineup without a hitch, batting .417 with a home run, two doubles and four RBI. All four of those RBI came in a 13-7 win at East Central.
K.K. Agner, a sophomore infielder from Horn Lake, batted .500 with a double and triple in a sweep of East Central. She also walked four times and reached base 6 of 8 times.
Paul Gayk, a sophomore from Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany, swept both his No. 1 matches during No. 15 Gulf Coast's 9-0 blanking of No. 22 Northwest Mississippi in the final regular-season match.
Tanyaradzwa Kaome, a sophomore from Harare, Zimbabwe, dropped only two games while winning both her No. 1 matches in No. 12 Gulf Coast's 9-0 win over Northwest Mississippi in the final regular-season match of the season.
