PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Miller Hancock has been named MACJC Player of the Week for March 25-31.

Miller Hancock, a sophomore shortstop from East Webster, hit three home runs, batted .533 and slugged 1.200 in four Gulf Coast victories. He had two hits and three RBI in a 15-3 seven-inning win at Copiah-Lincoln, then hit a home run in 7-3 win in the nightcap.

His three-run homer in the seventh tied the game in a 10-8 win over East Mississippi and he added a sacrifice fly later in the game. His second home run of the day drove in his second run of an 11-1 win in five innings.

Hancock is the second Bulldogs player to win a weekly state award, joining pitcher Dawson Hall. He is now eligible for the NJCAA award.
