Bulldogs postseason will begin a day early
PERKINSTON — The NJCAA Region 23 qualifying series between Mississippi Gulf Coast and Meridian will start Wednesday in an effort to beat expected bad weather.
The first pitch in the best-of-three series will be at 6 p.m., and Games 2, and 3 if necessary, will be played Thursday at a time to be determined.
Gulf Coast finished the regular-season 26-16 overall, 16-12 in the MACJC. The Bulldogs finished as the sixth seed, just behind Meridian (29-13, 18-10). The Eagles swept the regular-season doubleheader 12-7 and 6-3.
