Baseball pushed back to 4 p.m. Tuesday

PERKINSTON — If Mississippi Gulf Coast is going to break its streak of 12 straight splits in MACCC doubleheaders this season by winning twice, Tuesday's twinbill against Copiah-Lincoln would be the perfect time to do it.

The first game at Ken "Curly" Farris Field starts at 4 p.m. after being pushed back because of a wet forecast for overnight. The games will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/10358473.

Gulf Coast is in a three-way tie for eighth with Mississippi Delta and Northwest Mississippi. Northwest is off Tuesday and has only one more set of games to play.

The top nine teams in the conference earn spots in the postseason. The MACCC champion will host the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, and the second- through ninth-place teams play in best-of-three series for four spots to join LSU Eunice in the six-team field.

  • MGCCC: 17-22/12-12 MACCC, T-8th place in conference
