Bulldogs to battle Wildcats

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast heads west to play archrival Pearl River on Friday in a key contest in the MACCC South women's soccer race.

Pearl River and Meridian are tied for second in the division. Those teams have played one more than the Bulldogs in the first round of South play thanks to a rainout, and each has an extra tie tacked on their record.

Friday's game will be streamed at https://prccmedia.com/gold/. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

• MGCCC pounded Southwest 4-1 at Perk on Tuesday.

Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast tied Pearl River 1-1 on May 14 to clinch second place in the MACCC South. Skyler Steede had 12 saves, including one in the final second of double overtime to preserve the tie.
