
Five Bulldogs earn All-MACCC South honors
PERKINSTON — Five Mississippi Gulf Coast women's soccer players earned All-MACCC South honors, including four on the First Team, the conference announced Thursday.
The Bulldogs' centerback tandem of Olivia Palisi (So., Diamondhead/Hancock) and Molly Etchells (So., Manchester, England/Longdendale) were joined on the First Team by midfielder Katie Brown (So., Picayune/Home School) and forward Alyssa Palisi.
Forward Leah Bennett (So., Cape Town, South Africa/Mondeor) was named to the Second Team in voting done by league coaches.
Etchells and Olivia Palisi helped Gulf Coast have the third-stingiest defense in the MACCC, allowing just 1.02 goals per game. Etchells had the game-winning goal in 1-0 double-overtime game against Copiah-Lincoln.
Brown led Gulf Coast with five goals and tied with Alyssa Palisi for the team lead with four assists. Alyssa Palisi also had four goals.
Bennett had one goal and one assist.
