Bulldogs fall in final regular-season game

ELLISVILLE — Mississippi Gulf Coast gave up a goal in the 71st minute to fall to 12th-ranked Jones 1-0 in the regular-season finale.

The Bulldogs had already clinched a playoff spot and will go into the NJCAA Gulf District Tournament as the sixth seed.

The Bulldogs will travel to Poplarville on Saturday to play Pearl River in the quarterfinals. The winner will advance to the semifinals, which will be played in Ellisville. The dates of the final four are up in the air right now.

Gulf Coast falls to 9-4-1 overall, 6-4-1 MACCC. Jones, the defending national champion is 11-5, 7-4.
