Bulldogs fighting to host playoff game

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast battles archrival Pearl River on Tuesday trying to solidify its hold on the final spot in the standings that will guarantee a home playoff game.

The teams are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. at Bary Thrash Field, with the game being streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

Gulf Coast is tied for fourth place in the MACCC, which is the last spot to host an NJCAA Gulf District quarterfinal game.

  • MGCCC: 5-5-2/3-2-2 MACCC, 4th place in conference
  • Pearl River: 9-2/6-1 MACCC, 3rd place in conference

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC lost 2-1 at No. 1 Jones on Friday in Ellisville.
  • Pearl River beat Hinds 4-2 on Friday in Raymond.

Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast won the MACCC and NJCAA Gulf District championship last year on penalty kicks after the teams tied at 2 following regulation and two overtime periods on Nov. 7, 2021.
