Lopareva and Bankston win

PERKINSTON — Margarita Lopareva and Megan Bankston won their singles matches in third-set tiebreakers Monday, but Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 7-2 to Wallace State at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.

Lopareva (So., Moscow Russia/School No. 1101), bounced back from a shaky second set to win the tiebreaker 10-7. Bankston (So., Gulfport/Gulfport) also lost the second set but took the tiebreak 10-4.

Gulf Coast is back in action after spring break when it plays Jones at Perkinston. First serves are set for 1 p.m.
